Both Magesi and the University of Pretoria dropped vital points in the latest Motsepe Foundation Championship gameweek while JDR Stars leapfrog Orbit College into third place on the table.

Taking to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Magesi were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Hungry Lions on Tuesday afternoon.

While the result saw Magesi’s seven-match winning streak come to an end, second-placed University of Pretoria missed the chance to end the current game week at the top of the pile.

AmaTuks travelled to the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Tuesday, where Maritzburg United recorded a 2-0 win over the popular Pretoria outfit.

As it stands, AmaTuks currently trail Magesi by two points, while JDR Stars’ 2-1 win over Black Leopards saw them jump into third position on the table.

Dropping down to fourth, Orbit College suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Pretoria Callies at the Olympia Park Stadium on Wednesday and subsequently ended their losing streak in the league to three games.

Elsewhere, bottom of the table Marumo Gallants recorded a 1-1 draw with 14th-placed Milford FC, while Platinum City Rovers and Upington City shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
