The University of Pretoria climbed to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship this week, following their 2-1 win against Upington City on Friday afternoon.

After claiming their second victory on the trot, AmaTuks moved to the top of South Africa’s first division this week as a result of Orbit College’s 1-0 defeat against Casric Stars at the Olympia Park on Sunday afternoon.

Orbit, who entered the weekend at the top of the pile, saw their unbeaten run of four matches come to an end.

Elsewhere, Magesi claimed their third successive win in the Motsepe Foundation championship this week, after bagging a 2-0 win over a 10-man Marumo Gallants at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Sunday.

Magesi have now climbed up to second on the log, boasting a better goal difference to Orbit, who slumped to third on the table.

Also adding their name to the victory column is that of Venda Football Academy, who recorded a crucial 1-0 win against Hungry Lions at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw Venda Football Academy move away from the bottom of the log, a position which was filled by Platinum City Rovers following their 3-1 defeat to Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
