Casric eye winning start against Spurs

Casric Stars will face off with Cape Town Spurs in their opening PSL promotion/relegation playoffs match at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 3:00 pm CAT.

FORM

The Believers ended their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign with a 2-2 draw against All Stars away on May 14 and they finished third in the league standings.

The Mpumalanga side is undefeated in their last four matches in the second tier of South African football having recorded three successive draws and one win.

Meanwhile, Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by the University of Pretoria at home in their final game of the 2022-23 Motsepe Foundation Championship on May 14.

Therefore, the Urban Warriors finished second on the standings and they are undefeated in their last two games having registered one draw and one victory.

TEAM NEWS

Both teams are yet to report injuries in their camps ahead of this encounter. Stars' top scorer Kgomotso Mosadi should be available for selection.

While Spurs' star striker Ashley Cupido, who is the 2022-23 Motsepe Foundation Championship Golden Boot award winner, will also be in action.

Stars and Spurs will meet for the third time across all competitions with Casric having joined the professional ranks in 2022.

Casric emerged as 1-0 winners over Spurs in a league clash played in KwaMahlanga in January 2023.

However, the Urban Warriors won 2-0 in the reverse fixture in Cape Town in April 2023.
