Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points this past weekend when they were held to a two-all draw by plucky Cape Town Spurs at UWC Stadium on Sunday.

The Young Brazilians went to Cape Town with an impressive record of six victories on the trot. They were out to extend the gap at the top, however, Spurs who have been blowing hot and cold had other plans for them.

Spurs scored two quick goals just under the first 20 minutes they were already 2-0 up. They went to the break holding the lead, but poor game management in the second half saw Sundowns scoring two goals to maintain their unbeaten run this season.

Despite the draw, Sundowns remain at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge table with 21 points from nine matches.

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Royal AM

Pirates secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Royal AM to close the gap to one point between them and Sundowns. Senzelumusa Sibiya scored the most important goal in the 89th minute to hand The Buccaneers a victory. Pirates remain second on the log with 20 points from nine games. They are a point behind Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs 0-0 Richards Bay FC

Chiefs played their third draw of the season on Saturday when they were frustrated by Richards Bay FC at Dobsonville Stadium. Chiefs have been blowing hot and cold this season. They seem to be struggling to maintain consistency so far.

After nine matches they remain in position three with 18 points, three behind leaders Sundowns.

Stellenbosch 2-1 Sekhukhune United

Babina Noko suffered their first defeat of the season in the hands of 2021/22 champions at Idas Valley. Sekhukhune had a promising start, but it looks like the wheels are now coming off as they have only won once and drew three times in their last five matches.

Polokwane City 0-2 Moroka Swallows

Polokwane City remains the only team who are yet to win a match this season. After nine games they have lost eight and only drew once. They are rooted at the bottom of the Diski Challenge table with one point.
