Who will stop Mamelodi Sundowns?

With the senior team firing on all cylinders in the DStv Premiership, the youngsters are also doing the most in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC].

The Young Brazilians opened a four-point gap at the top of the DDC table on Sunday after brushing aside Sekhukhune United 2-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Thando Buthelezi and Kutlwano Letlhaku were both on the scoresheet, ensuring that the Brazilians maintained their place at the top of the table.

After 11 matches, Sundowns remain the only undefeated team this season. The change of playing personnel and coach looks like it is something that they needed to get their mojo back.

Sundowns coach Sinethemba Badela is coaching in the Diski for the first time, but he seems to have adapted well, winning eight matches and playing out three draws so far.

It might still be early in the season, but Sundowns’ intentions are clear. They want to dominate on all fronts.

In the festival hosted at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal, SuperSport United derailed Orlando Pirates' progress in a dramatic finish when they scored two goals in optional time to earn a 3-1 victory.

Sfiso Mazibuko, Thabang Makubo and Siviwe Magidigidi were all on the scoresheet for SuperSport, while Pirates' consolation came from Mpumelelo Ndaba.

Despite the defeat, Pirates remain second in the table with 23 points.

On Sunday, Stellenbosch FC defeated AmaZulu 1-0 to move third. Mervin Boji scored the only goal of the match.

In the last match of the weekend, Kaizer Chiefs managed to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City FC. Neo Bohloko scored the crucial goal from the penalty spot to earn Amakhosi a point in their third draw on the trot.

The Citizens drew first blood in the 67th minute with a fine finish from Shakeel April, but a lack of concentration saw them failing to get all three points in the last minutes of the match.
