The 2024 Masters is here and only a select few LIV Golf members will be competing for the green jacket at Augusta from 11-15 April but Ian Poulter is not one of them.

THE GREEN JACKET

The green jacket is one of the most coveted prizes in golf and Augusta National is one of the most iconic golf courses around the world making the first Major of every year arguably the most anticipated event on the golf calendar.

The green jacket is not the only prize on offer during Masters week as on the Wednesday before the tournament proper starts, golfers are joined by friends and families as they take each other on in the Par-3 competition, around the 9-hole par-3 course. Since its inception in 1960, there have been no fewer than 94 hole-in-ones and only one person, Camilo Villegas in 2015, has recorded two in one round. Winning the Par-3 contest though has become somewhat of a curse as no player who has won it has gone on to win the green jacket in the same year.

LIV CONTIGENT

The list of LIV players set to play at The Masters includes Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Tyrrell Hatton, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Adrian Meronk, Phil Mickelson, Joaquin Niemann, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, Cameron Smith and Bubba Watson.

Rounding out the list is defending Masters champion Jon Rahm, who claimed the second major of his career, four shots ahead of Koepka and Mickelson.

TIGER MILESTONE

Tiger Woods can break a tournament record by making the cut for the 24th consecutive time in his 26th appearance.

Woods, 48, has not been out on the course competitively since withdrawing after six holes of the second round during the Genesis Invitational in mid-February with the flu. But earlier this month, the 15-time major champion returned to golf in the Seminole Pro-Member alongside friend and business partner Rory McIlroy.

By making the cut, the five-time Masters winner would break a tie with Gary Player and Fred Couples for the most consecutive made cuts in competition history. He has done so 24 straight times, starting in 1997 when he pulled on the Green Jacket for the first time. Woods has only missed the cut once, in 1996, after finishing in a tie for 41st the previous year before even turning professional.
