Botswana will clash with Angola in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification Group I match at the Francistown Sports Complex in Botswana on Friday.

Kick-off is at 7pm CAT.

The Zebras are already eliminated having succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Mauritania away in their last Group I match four months ago.

The 2012 Afcon participants are placed fourth on the Group I standings - six points behind third-placed Burkina Faso, who will end their group stage campaign against Burkina Faso on Friday.

Botswana coach Mogomotsi Mpote, who recently replaced David Bright, has stated that despite the target being developing young talent, they are eyeing a win over Angola.

"Development or no development, we play to win. The players' response has been impressive," Mpote said on The Voice of Botswana.

Meanwhile, Angola kept their hopes of reaching the finals alive by defeating Burkina Faso 2-1 in their previous Group I game four months ago.

Palancas Negras are placed second on the Group I standings - three points behind the leaders Mauritania, who have already booked their place in the finals.

Freddy, the Angola striker, says their sole objective is to win the game and bring joy to the Angolan people, while ensuring that the two-time Afcon quarterfinalists qualify.

"We are confident, thinking only of the victory, in order to toast our people, who deserve and honour the country after several editions without participating," Freddy told Noticias de Angola.
