More than 80 per cent of the 23 000-entry cap for next year’s 97th Comrades Marathon has been sold, with the entry process closing on Monday, 11 December 2023.

CMA Race & Operations Manager, Ann Ashworth has called on runners to get their entry in if they have not yet already entered. The entry tally currently stands at nearly 19 000 with 72 countries represented in next year’s 49th Comrades Up Run.

South African entries total 17018 with 13386 males and 3632 females.

The entry period closes on 11 December 2023 or as soon as the entry cap of 23 000 entries has been reached, whichever comes first. Prospective entrants are encouraged to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.

Entry fees remain the same as that of the 2023 Race and are as follows:

South African entrants: R1 200

Rest of Africa entrants: R2 000

International entrants: R4 500

Entry is free to all runners who have completed the Comrades Marathon 25 times or more.

Runners can enter online via the Comrades Marathon website: www.comrades.com or the Comrades App.
