Blitzboks march on

The Springbok Sevens team continued their onward march in the Commonwealth Games, winning their second match by a big score without conceding a point.

The Blitzboks followed up their 43-0 win over Malaysia in the opening game with a 52-0 win over Papua New Guinea as they continue to defend the title they won at the last Commonwealth Games.

Ruhan Nel scored twice in the first half, and was joined on the scoreboard by Werner Kok, Rosco Speckman and Dylan Sage for a 33-0 halftime score. And in the second half it was Speckman who got his second, followed by tries for Branco du Preez and Zane Davids for the final 52-0 scoreline.

South Africa still have to face Scotland in their biggest game of the pool, with the match set for 2.17pm (CAT, GMT+2). Scotland beat Malaysia 41-0 to remain unbeaten as well.
