As Brit supergroup Radiohead once wrote, there were 'no alarms and no surprises' on day three of World Cup 2019 action on Sunday in Japan.

A comfortable win for Italy over Bok-neighbours Namibia; a strong performance from title hopefuls Ireland, and the expected victory for former champions England over a physical Tonga. To be honest, it was tough finding five moments that raised the eyebrows, but here we go . . .

Here's our 'unfour(+1)gettable' moments from the third day of action:

5. SHAKIN' STEVENS

Namibia, the lowest ranked team (23) at the World Cup, aren't expected to cause any problems, but that doesn't mean they can't have their few moments in the sun.

Not long after the Nic Berry's whistle began the game, a flowing move down the right allowed scrumhalf Damian Stevens to shake things up by joyously diving in for the first score of the night - and create a story his grandkids will be sick of in decades to come . . .

4. HANDS MA, NO LOOK

We see it often enough in sports like basketball, but rugby?! Italy's Federico Ruzza treated us to a no-look pass to Tito Tebaldi to score on the brink of halftime to take the score to 21-7 and snuff out any real hope for Namibia.

Italians treating us to a very special pass. Ta.

3. LUCK OF THE IRISH

Not that this changed the course of the game, but it was still incredibly unlucky for the Scots.

After a mishandle, the ball was kicked through from way back and the 60m chase was on. The pacy Scottish fullback Stuart Hogg was comfortably winning the race to dot down, before the ball hit the post and bounced back in field. He had no choice but to pick up and dot down under pressure, and the Irish scored from the resulting scrum to go into a 19-3 lead.

2. OUTSTANDERING

Great win for the Irish over the Scots today - they have been the most impressive side over the first few days.

And although it hurts a bit, it's nice to see a South African shining at the World Cup, even if it is in the wrong shade of green. CJ Stander put in a Man of the Match performance, then choked up a little when thanking his family in the crowd - in his remaining Saffer accent . . .

1. GETTING YOUR RETALIATION IN FIRST

When you play against the Pacific Island sides, you know you are in for a bruising encounter. Just ask Derick Hougaard . . .

But when you have a converted Islander in your side anyway, why not give them a taste of their own medicine?.

That's exactly what England centre Manu Tuilagi did to Sonatane Takulua - a crunching slam after a pinpoint high ball. The men on the mic needed some first aid after having to commentate on that one!
