Welsh gets Scotland call after injuries

Scotland have called up prop forward Jon Welsh after losing three players to injury ahead of their clash with world champions New Zealand at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Rob Harley, Tim Swinson and WP Nel have all been sidelined from the remainder of Scotland's November campaign.

Glasgow lock Swinson suffered a broken hand in last week's 44-38 win over Samoa, while Edinburgh prop Nel sustained a fractured arm during the same match.

Harley, a Glasgow teammate of Swinson, suffered a knee injury in training last week that has put him out of the upcoming tests against both New Zealand and Australia.

Wing Tommy Seymour suffered a toe injury against Samoa but he is set to return to training this week.

Welsh won the last of his 11 caps in a 2015 World Cup quarterfinal defeat by Australia at Twickenham.
