Updates: Day 9

The golden moments continue on Day 9 of the London 2012 Paralympic Games as athletes compete for medals in nine different sports.

22:58 - After an explosive start Oscar Pistorius eases up down the back straight, cantering across the line to book his place in the final. It is all about the final now!

22:50 - Alan Oliveira storms through the first 200m and was miles in front, before basically slowing down to walking pace, crossing the line in second place behind American Blake Leepe and qualifies along with Liu of China for tomorrow night's 400m T44 final.

21:26 - It's another victory in the pool for Belarus's Ihar Boki in the men's 200m individual medley SM13. He smashes the world record by three seconds! Fantastic swim! Charl Bouwer is fourt.

20:21 - Ireland's Jason Smyth breaks his own world record in the 200m T13 final to add to his Paralympic 100m success. He clocks a 200m time of 21.05 .

19:35 - Italian ex-Formula 1 driver Alex Zanardi wins his second Paralympic gold in the handcycling road race at Brands Hatch.

The ex-Formula 1 driver, who lost both legs following a crash in 2001, won the H4 handcycling time trial on Wednesday. The 45-year-old followed it up with a sprint finish to take the road race ahead of South Africa's Ernst van Dyk and Belgian Wim Decleir.

18:44 - Ellie Cole wins gold ahead of Natalie du Toit! That is only Du Toit's second ever Paralympic silver medal. She has won 13 Paralympic titles over three Games.

18:39 Natalie du Toit is about the go in the S9 400m freestyle. It is her swansong and she gets a great reception in the Aquatics Centre.

18:32 - Australia's Matt Cowdrey wins gold number 13 in the men's S9 100m freestyle!.

14:07 - Esther Vergeer remains unbeatable. The Duch Wheelchair Tennis legend stretches her winning streak to 470 matches with a 6-0 6-3 victory over her ountrywoman Aniek van Koot in the women's singles final at Eton Manor.

10:41 Natalie du Toit swimming on her last day of her last Paralympics, wins heat 2 of the 100m freestyle S9 in the fastest time overall.

  • 19:00 Hilton Langenhoven, a comfortable winner in heat 1 this morning, lines up for 200m T12 semifinals.
  • 20:04 Charl Bouwer is the third fastest qualifier for the 200m individual medley SM13.
  • 20:40Ilse Hayes, 100m silver medallist and Anika Pretorius compete in the Long Jump F13 final. Hayes is one of the favourites to win gold.
