Lumwana looking to lure Gozon

Lumwana Radiants are looking to lure midfielder Gozon Mutale back to North Western Province on a six month loan deal from Power Dynamos, Club Secretary Besa Kansumba has confirmed.

Mutale left Lumwana Radiants to join Power Dynamos in early 2016, but he has been a bit part player since. The ex-Mining Rangers midfielder spent a season at Lumwana Radiants, helping them to qualify for the Barclays Cup and to win promotion from the defunct FAZ Division One North League in 2015.

His exploits with Lumwana Radiants convinced late Fighton Simukonda to give him a call up to the Zambia U23 national team provisional squad which was preparing for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations held in Senegal in 2015.

“We have already established communication with Power Dynamos for Gozon Mutale. We are trying to convince them to loan him to us. He could do with some game time and we believe we can afford him that,” said Kansumba.

And Lumwana Radiants head coach Zeddy Saileti says he is looking to add three players to the squad before the July transfer window closes.

“If you look at our team, we have a lot of youthful players so we will try to reinforce with one or two experienced players. We are looking for an attacking midfielder, a striker and a central defender. We know the players we want, but at the moment it is too early to reveal who they are,” said Saileti.

Prosper Chiluya, Musonda Siame, Simon Zimba, Kelvin Kapumba, Stephen Chulu and Happy Nsofwa are some of the young players Lumwana Radiants signed at the start of the current campaign.

They also signed Hosea Silwimba, Josephat Kasusu and Charles Mweemba from Nkana, while Chewe Mukuka and Simon Nkhata arrived from Nchanga Rangers. Left back Chiyesu Sakafunya joined them from Power Dynamos.
