Lumwana maintain impressive start

Lumwana Radiants maintained their impressive start to the current MTN FAZ Super League season as they notched their fourth win and opened a three point lead at the top following a 1-0 defeat of Nakambala Leopards on Sunday.

Allan Kapila scored the lone goal in the 26th minute to take Beston Chambeshi's men to 14 points from four wins and two draws.

They are one of two sides which are still undefeated along with Power Dynamos.

Second placed Zesco United are three points adrift following their 2-2 draw in which they had to come from behind to share the spoils with Green Buffaloes on Wednesday.

Brian Mwila and Diamond Chikwekwe had given the visitors a 2-0 lead but Zesco rallied to equalise in the final 15 minutes with goals from Ben Adama Banh and David Odhiambo Owino.

Zanaco remain third on goal difference from Green Eagles and Konkola Blades despite not playing this weekend, their match having been moved to Wednesday as their fixture with Nchanga Rangers clashed with their visit to Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League.

They will move to second if they avoid defeat on Wednesday.

Green Eagles remained rooted fourth after they lost 2-0 at home to Lusaka Dynamos, the visitors moving up to sixth on goal difference after recording their second successive victory thanks to goals by Portipher Zulu and Chris Mugalu.

Konkola Blades defeated fellow promotion side Real Nakonde 1-0 to move up to fifth thanks to Tapson Kaseba's 70th minute goal while Nkwazi kept pace as they moved up to seventh after defeating Forest Rangers thanks to second-half goals by Mwila Kabwe and Justin Shonga.

At Nkoloma Stadium Power Dynamos gave away a 31st minute lead given to them by Kelvin Kampamba as Patrick Ngoma equalised in the 41st minute for the match to end in a 1-1 stalemate.

Nkana picked up maximum points as they defeated City of Lusaka 1-0 thanks to a first half goal which was given to Walter Bwalya when it looked like it had been scored by Dieugo Apanane.

The goal arrived in the 32nd minute when Apanane's seemingly harmless goal-bound ball over the top went in through the bottom corner but Bwalya was credited with the goal, having made the slightest of touches with his hair.

There was also a victory for Buildcon, their first of the campaign, as they won 1-0 at home to Napsa Stars thanks to a goal by Chavda Maisha, the Congolese striker heading home at the end of Jonas Sakuwaha's cross for his second goal of the season.

And one of the fiercest contests in the Zambian league was settled by a 1-1 draw as Mufulira Wanderers came from behind to claim their first point at home to Kabwe Warriors.

Clement Mwape had given the visitors a 1-0 lead on 15 minutes but the hosts equalised through Changala Simutenda in the 87th minute.
