Amajita coach Thabo Senong, believes that if the SA U20 team make less mistakes, they will get positive results in their CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal clash against Senegal on Wednesday at the Seyni Kouche Stadium in Niger.

Senong is confident that his charges will fight tooth and nail to see realise their goal of reaching the final.

The last four encounter against Senegal will kick off at 20h30 (SA time), live on SuperSport.

“I am glad to announce that the boys are looking very sharp ahead of the clash with Senegal, they are raring to go and it is pleasing to see them in such high spirits – it augurs well for the team,” said Senong after the squad’s final training session in Niamey.

“We know that it is not going to be an easy game for either side. Senegal come into this encounter without having lost a single match. We will do everything in our power thwart them of those scoring opportunities, while creating our own as well.”

South Africa has a clean bill of health and Senong is spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting his starting 11.

After their crucial win against Burundi in the last match, the coach has made it clear that he will not allow his players to slack, now that they have secured a World Cup place.

“I made the players aware that we need to remain focused and that our job is not done yet,” Senong said. “We still need to be performance driven because having such an attitude will help us in pushing for a positive result in that match.”

Nigeria takes on Mali in the other semifinal.
