Rohr satisfied with Cameroon draw

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has expressed satisfaction with his team's draw against Cameroon in a 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying match in Yaounde on Monday.

Cameroon's Indomitable Lions clawed their way back to hold Nigeria 1-1 and Rohr thinks his team suffered "physically in the second half" and explained that they faced a different opponent compared to the first meeting in Uyo where they won 4-0 last Friday.

The Super Eagles coach further said their plan from the outset when they were drawn in Group B alongside Cameroon was to take four points off their opponents.

"It was a different Cameroon team. When you lose 4-0 in the first game and then you play at home you want to take your revenge. They played very well - they had three, four fresh players and we had the same team.

"And physically in the second half we had some problems but we are very happy about this point because our goal was to have four points over the two games against Cameroon. So we did very well in the first game. Today was a game we didn't want to make spectacular but we wanted at least a point. We are very satisfied with this point," said Rohr.

Nigeria will next host Zambia in their fifth game of the World Cup qualification in Uyo in October.
