Lebese cautious of Acornbush

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese says he's happy with his side's Nedbank Cup draw, but has warned against complacency.

Amakhosi were paired with Second Division giant-killers Acornbush United away from home in the Nedbank Cup last 16, following the draw on Thursday night.

The Mpumalanga club earned their spot in the last 16 after shocking top-flight high-flyers Cape Town City 1-0 in the previous round and will now be relishing the chance to take on Chiefs at the Kwabokeni Stadium just outside of Nelspruit.

The Glamour Boys may be the most successful club in the tournament's history with 13 titles, but in the last seven years they have twice been defeated by lower league opposition - FC Cape Town and Baroka FC.

Lebese is therefore aware of the potential danger third tier side Acornbush could pose.

"We're happy with the draw to be honest," he told his club's website. "Whether we get a PSL side or a team from the lower divisions doesn't really matter, because when you play in a cup game anything can happen.

"From what I know about them is that they're a good team in the ABC Motsepe League and we should approach the game with caution and give it our all to progress to the next stage."

The only other remaining Second Division team in the competition, KwaDukuza United, also have a home draw against Premiership opposition - they face SuperSport United.

There are also two National First Division teams still in the tournament – Mbombela United and Jomo Cosmos.

The games are scheduled to take place between 5-9 April.

Last 16 draw:
Chippa United vs Polokwane City
KwaDukuza United vs SuperSport United
Bloemfontein Celtic vs Mbombela United
Free State Stars vs Orlando Pirates
Jomo Cosmos vs BidVest Wits
Baroka FC vs Platinum Stars
Mamelodi Sundowns vs Lamontville Golden Arrows
Acornbush United vs Kaizer Chiefs
