Leopards set to boost squad

Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards are set to add five players to their ranks for the 2013 season.

Recently appointed assistant coach Tom Olaba revealed the news and confirmed negotiations with the targeted-players are at an advanced stage.

“We are bringing on board five new players to boost our squad. These are all talented players with experience that will help us in the upcoming season,” Olaba said after the team’s first training session this year at the Nairobi City Stadium on Monday.

“We are almost concluding talks with the five players and they will put pen to paper soon and be unveiled before the end of the week as we want them to join the team preparations in good time,” he added.

At the same venue, Leopards chairman Ole Magelo welcomed the team and wished them well for the 2013 season.

“Let this be our season. We have a very good team and now we have brought on board a very qualified and capable coach, Tom Olaba,” Magelo said.

“We will also be unveiling a new coach soon and Olaba will be in charge before we do that. We knew where we went wrong last season and we won’t repeat that,” he added.

Ingwe will open their 2013 campaign against promoted side Kakamega Homeboys on 9 February.
