Nandwa takes over at Rangers

Rangers have appointed former Karuturi Sports tactician James Nandwa tactician as their head coach.

The relegation threatened team were in the market for a new coach following the exit of interim coach Jaffer Gichuki and settled on Nandwa who was the technical director.

The development was confirmed by the club CEO Yobes Ongeri.

“We have appointed James Nandwa as our coach. He was the technical director but now he takes over the team since the coach left the club.”

“His assistant will be former City Stars coach Kennedy Odhiambo and trainer Ben Bella. We are working on improving the team before the league resumes.”

“We are preparing for our match on Monday and are trying to check if the technical director replacement has a work permit to work with the club.”

Nandwa is Rangers’ third coach this season. Ezekiel Akwana was appointed coach at the start of the season before being shown the door because of poor results with Gichuki taking over.

The team is currently placed 15th on the log with 11 points having won one, drawn eight and lost six in the 15 matches played in the first round.

They will face Chemelil Sugar on Monday at City Stadium.
