KPL week four preview

Kenyan Premier league week four will offer another ound of exciting matches as the battle for supremacy continues with league leaders Tusker Fc hoping to maintain their tempo at the top while Bandari ‘s technical bench will have to come up with a special plan to be able overcome the bad start to the 2011 season.

Saturday 19th March 2011

Chemelil Vs Tusker(Chemelil Complex)

Home team Chemelil Sugar who are eighth on the log will host league leaders Tusker who have won all their matches so far hoping to pull off a giant killing act.

Even though Chemelil coach Nick Yakhama says the worst his team will go for a draw Tusker will have better plans up their sleeves as coach Sammy Omollo hopes that his team’s stupendous form will prevail over Chemelil.

Our Predictions:1-2

Congo United Vs Ulinzi Stars(Mombasa)live on SuperSport 9

Debutants Congo United who are in 13th position after two points in three matches will be at home against league champions Ulinzi.

The army men are in an unfamiliar 14th position after twp defeats and go into the match determined to break the winless jinx and get their first three points of the season. On the other hand, Congo wants to prove that they belong among the top boys and a win over the reigning champions will show their mettle.

Our Predictions:1-2

Sunday 13th March 2011

AFC Leopards Vs Karuturi (Mumias Complex)

The match has been switched to the Mumias Sugar complex in Western Kenya because of Leopards’ sponsors Mumias Sugar. AFC Leopards are placed in the fifth place with six points in the log table while their challengers Karuturi Sports are in tenth with four points from three games.

Leopards seem to have found their form with the change of guard that has seen Robert Matano take over from Belgian Robert Bollen. Karuturi emerged victorious over Leopards in he same venue last season so they will go into the match expecting another surprise victory over a resurgent Leopards team.

Our Prediction:2-1

Thika United Vs KCB(Thika)

Both teams have had a good run in league with Thika United in the sixth spot with four points from three games wile KCB are in the fourth position with six points from three games.

The match will provide entertainment since both sets of player are young and very talented. Playing at home Thika United will want to replicate the form that saw them demolish Karuturi while KCB hatrick man Clifford Alwanga will be seeking to improve his goal tally as the top scorer.

Our Prediction:1-2

Mathare United Vs Rangers (Nyayo Stadium)

Slum boys Mathare United are in unfamiliar twelfth spot with only three points from the three matches they have played so far while Rangers are in seventh spot with four points having started the league on a positive note with a win over Gor Mahia but have not won since then.

Mathare will want to climb out of the bottom four team by ensuring a win over Rangers by depending on their dimunitive striker Kevin Kimani who has got a call up to he national team.

Rangers boast having several of Mathare players like Kevin Ochieng, Joseph Nyaga and Jaffer Gichuki who have been instrumental so far.

Our prediction:2-2

Bandari Vs City Stars (Mombasa)live on SuperSport 9

Bottom of the table Bandari have so far lost all their three matches and the players are demanding the removal of the technical bench citing incompetence.

They have found the going extremely difficult and this will be a chance to atone for their losses whereas City Stars under former Ken Odhiambo are second from the bottom.

City Stars are under a lot of pressure to atleast get a win but Bandari will be going all out to prevent the same. Even though it may be too early to talk of relegation both the teams are in precarious positions and anything less than a win will be detrimental to them.

Our Prediction:1-1

Gor Mahia Vs Western Stima(City Stadium)

Gor Mahia are in the eleventh position with four points while Western Stima who are in a roller coaster have seven points from three matches and are in the third place in the table standings.

Stima coach Henry Omino thinks the bigger the team the harder they fall and with the good run they have had in the 2011 season anything is possible including a win for them.

Gor Mahia will want to regain their form immediately but playing against a rejuvenated Stima side will be tricky considering the Kakamega side are considered to be giant killers and unpredictable. Gor Mahia might command a lot of fan base but Stima on the other hand have vowed to make them fall once against in this big duel.

Our Prediction:1-2
