Gaston Sirino will be available to play for Mamelodi Sundowns in Saturday’s African Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Al Ahly but is still suspended for one more Absa Premiership game.

Uruguayan midfielder Sirino was sent off against Maritzburg United last month and received an automatic two-match ban, which started on Monday when champions Sundowns kept up their lead in the standings with a goalless draw at Orlando Prates in Soweto.

The creativity of the diminutive South American was notably absent as Sundowns were on the back foot for most of the game.

Sirino is also out for Sundowns’ next league match on April 17 when they will be hosting SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby at Loftus Versfeld.

But the PSL ban does not effect Sirino’s participation in the Confederation of African Football competitions.

Sundowns host the first leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday (live on SuperSport) with the return match one week later in Suez.
