Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane is eager for his troops to confirm their spot in the Caf Champions League knockout stages with victory over Lobi Stars at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday evening.

Kick-off is at 9pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

Victory for the Brazilians will confirm their place in the quarterfinals of Africa's premier club cup competition, with one group game remaining.

The 2016 CAF CL champions currently top Group A after four rounds of fixtures, having accumulated seven points from their allotted fixtures. Sundowns are level on points with second-placed Wydad Casablanca who they face in Morocco next week.

''Do you want to go to North Africa looking for a result? What does history say about all the South African clubs when we go to North Africa?'' Mosimane said ahead of this weekend's clash.

''The game is big for us and I always say I would love to win everything but if we look at the titles, we know which one carries the biggest weight. The Champions League is huge and if it is easy to win it then why can’t everybody do that?'' Mosimane questioned.

He continued; ''The huge priority at home is to win the league but internationally, for the brand of Mamelodi Sundowns, it is the Champions League,'' he added.

''You don’t want to go to Wydad and you need a result.''

Sundowns bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Lobi Stars in Enugu on matchday one with successive wins over Wydad and ASEC Mimosas in the South African capital.

Stars were unable to build on their win over Sundowns in Nigeria, losing successive games before last month's goalless draw in Rabat. Lobi currently occupy bottom spot in the group, tied on four points with ASEC.
