CAF’s inter-clubs draw set for May 15



The CAF inter-clubs competitions draw will be held on May 15 at the body’s headquarters in Cairo, officials said on Monday.

The Inter-Clubs competitions are the Orange CAF Champions League and the Orange CAF Confederation Cup. The Champions League is currently in the round of eight phase while the Confederation Cup is in the round of 16 .

The event will principally be the drawing of lots of the group matches of the 16th Edition of the Orange CAF Champions League 2012 and the 2nd 1/8th finals and group matches of the 9th Edition of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup.

The final of the Orange CAF Champions League will be played between November 2 and November 4 for the first leg, and between November 9 and November 11 for the second leg.

The future champion will represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup taking place in Japan between December 6 and 16. Tunisian side Esperance are the current champions of the CAF Champions League while Morocco’s MAS Fez won the 2011 edition of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup.
