Saturday’s Absa Premiership clash between Highlands Park and Free State Stars, due to be played in Tembisa, has been postponed following the death of Stars’ player Sinethemba Jantjie.

Stars had requested the move to allow Jantjie to be buried on Saturday.

The club have arranged a memorial service for him in Bethlehem on Thursday followed by his funeral in his hometown of Whittlesea on Saturday.

The PSL said a new date for the match would be confirmed “in due course”.

Jantjie was killed in a car accident in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 30-year-old had been due to move to Bidvest Wits at the end of the season. He had already signed a pre contract with the Johannesburg-based club.
