Manyisa out with ankle injury

Oupa Manyisa is battling with an ankle injury and is the latest casualty for Mamelodi Sundowns who have a lengthy list of players sidelined, officials said on Friday.

Coach Pitso Mosimane’s hopes of some decent training time with the squad this week, while the Absa Premiership breaks for the international calendar have been hampered by a lengthy list of players sidelined by niggles.

The newly signed midfielder, who moved from Orlando Pirates in the off-season, is joined by Thela Ngobeni, Bangaly Soumaharo and Yannick Zakri on the injury list. They are struggling with groin injuries.

Manyisa, 29, missed Sundowns’ last league game against Platinum Stars.

Sundowns medical staff are attempting to get them all for the resumption of the Absa Premiership campaign, which is against Kaizer chiefs at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday, October 17.

Sundowns, knocked out of the African Champions League late last month, have several matches to catch up in the Absa Premiership.
