Bucs midfielder loaned out to Baroka

Orlando Pirates have loaned attacking midfielder Gift Motupa to Baroka FC as the club landed their former player on a season-long deal.

After making over 50 appearances for Bakgaga and scoring 18 goals, Motupa won a move to Pirates in June 2015 on a five-year contract. However, in his time at Mayfair he has been blighted by niggling injuries, and a return to his former club could reignite his development in the Premiership.

Bakgaga spokesman Jimmy Ngobeni said: "Yes‚ I can confirm that Gift Motupa will be playing for Baroka FC after he joined the club on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates.

"He is expected to arrive to link up with the rest of the squad. The boys returned from the break to start their pre-season preparations on Monday."

Over two seasons for the Sea Robbers, the 22-year-old South Africa international made 34 appearances and found the back of the net twice.
