Teko can stay at Sundowns – Pitso

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says Teko Modise still has a future at the club but he is not sure what the veteran midfielder is planning to do after not extending his contract with the African champions.

“I think he still has a future at the club and we hope to hear from him. I’m the one coach who will never say he must go. It was me who gave him his first professional contact,” said Mosimane of his time at SuperSport United when Modise was signed from City Pillars in 2006.

“And I’ll never be the one to say that Teko must cut short his career at the end. If he decides to retire here and retire well he has all my blessing.

“He has done really well for the club and he has done really well for South African football. He has won Footballer of the Year twice and played at the b the World Cup. He has done it all.”

Modise, 34, said several months ago he did not plan to stay at Sundowns when his contact came to an end in June.
