Boivin and Cotonsport part ways

Cotonsport of Garoua's coach Robert Boivin has resigned following the team's shameful output since the Frenchman replaced his compatriot Denis Lavagne.

He took the team on the 5th of February when they played the 3rd day of play of the championship, but in 16 days of play, the club won only 6 games, drew 7 and lost 3. This thereby relegates them to the 5th position on the classification table, and are still to win any confrontation with any of theie immediate challengers for the title race.

Though the team is sill in contention for the cup of Cameroon, their dwindling results reached fever peak when they were booted out of the two continental competitions, the Caf champion's league and the Caf Confederations cup, and their championship defeat to Union of Douala at home last Sunday. He therefore played twenty five matches with the Garoua team and won just eleven

The Frenchman leaves the club after just five months in charge. His deputy Haman Gabriel is now the caretaker coach as the club's officials now consider bringing in another coach. To note that Cotonsport of Garoua have always been coached by a non-Cameroonians except Jules Nyongha and Bonaventure Djonkep. Some of them include Lamine Ndiaye, Denis Lavagne, Alain Oumbleon Guedon and Robert Boivin.
