Rossouw, Abbott join Titans

South African cricketers Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw have been recruited by the Khulna Titans, ahead of the 2017 Bangladesh Premier League.

Rossouw represented the Quetta Gladiators last year, while this will be Abbott's maiden BPL stint.

The former has not played international cricket since October 2016 and the latter January 2017. Both players have since signed Kolpak contracts, effectively ending their Proteas careers for the foreseeable future, and are currently playing for Hampshire in the United Kingdom.

The 30-year-old Abbott has enjoyed a superb run of form, with bat and ball, in the ongoing County Championship Division One - and almost welcomed a maiden first-class century en route to a fine 97 not out against Lancashire at Old Trafford in Manchester recently.

The 27-year-old Rossouw, however, has scored a mere 61 runs in his last 10 innings. His recent failings were particularly evident against Essex at Chelmsford, where he endured twin ducks.

Khulna have also signed Australian Chris Lynn, Sri Lankan Seekkuge Prasanna - and Pakistan duo Shadab Khan and Sarfraz Ahmed.

The Bangladesh Premier League will get unde rway on 4 November. The Dhaka Dynamites are the reigning champions, after beating the Rajshahi Kings in the 2016 final.
