The Twenty20 CSA Challenge match between the Warriors and the Multiply Titans has been abandoned without a ball being bowled at Buffalo Park in East London Monday.

The not unexpected decision was made by the umpires about half an hour before the game was due to start.

After heavy overnight rain continued Monday morning it was virtually a foregone conclusion as the rain continued without abating until about an hour before the match was due to start. The ground is waterlogged with a number of puddles surrounding the covers.

After six matches the Warriors are just one point ahead of the Titans. They have 14 points, the Titans 13, three and four points respectively below log-leaders, the Highveld Lions and the Cape Cobras, both on 17.

Both teams enjoyed excellent victories on Saturday – the Warriors beat the Cobras by 10 runs at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth, while the Titans beat the Dolphins in Pietermaritzburg by eight wickets with seven balls to spare
