Vicaut in fitness race for worlds

French sprinter Jimmy Vicaut, the joint-holder of the European 100m record, admitted on Friday he could miss August's world championships with a hamstring injury, describing his season as "compromised".

Vicaut was injured running in the Oslo Diamond League meet on Thursday, leaving a question mark over his participation at the worlds in London from 4 August.

"The rest of my season is compromised. My doctor is not an alarmist but it really is too early to give a date for my return," 25-year-old Vicaut wrote on Facebook.

"For now, I will take care of myself to regain a good physical condition."
