Peyron replaces skipper Hutchinson
France's Loick Peyron has been appointed to lead America's Cup challenger Artemis Racing in place of American Terry Hutchinson, the Swedish team confirmed on Saturday.
Artemis Racing also announced the shake-up would see Britain's Iain Percy, Australian Nathan Outteridge and Argentine Santiago Lange, all Olympic medallists, join the team as they prepare for the race in San Francisco next September.
"With Loick and Nathan we have two very high-potential helmsmen," Artemis Racing CEO Paul Cayard said.
"In Loick we have 35 years of big multihull experience and in Nathan we have a young guy who has demonstrated a lot of talent in fast skiffs and dinghies and who has a very bright future."
Peyron and Outteridge joined the team earlier this year after Hutchinson had led Artemis to victory in the 2011-12 America's Cup World Series Match Racing Championship.
Cayard said setbacks the team suffered earlier this year when a damaged wing significantly delayed their first sailing days has forced the team to consider all avenues in accelerating their programme.
