Monday final for rain-hit Birmingham



Jelena Jankovic and Melanie Oudin will play their Birmingham grasscourt final on Monday after both women had to complete their quarterfinals and semifinals on Sunday at the rain-hit event.

Fifth-seeded Serb Jankovic beat Japan's Misaki Doi 6-3, 6-4 in the last eight before following that up with a 6-7 (2/7), 7-5, 6-1 victory over Zheng Jie of China.

Qualifier Oudin started with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 defeat of American compatriot Irina Falconi before clinching a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Russian eighth seed Ekaterina Makarova.

After reaching her first WTA tour final, Oudin was also celebrating when she was awarded a wild card into Wimbledon which starts on June 25.
