Scheepers drops down rankings

South Africa's No 1 woman tennis player Chanelle Scheepers slipped down the latest WTA singles rankings to number 62 on Monday.

Scheepers began the year at number 38, and has now fallen 24 spots.

Scheepers reached a career-high ranking of 37 with her maiden victory on tour at the Guangzhou International Women's Open in China in September 2011.

In her title defence in China, Scheepers made it through to the quarterfinal stage, before losing out in three sets to Urszula Radwanska of Poland.

On the men's side, Kevin Anderson has remained at 38 in the ATP singles rankings.

Anderson enjoyed a career-high ranking of 28 in March following a second career title at Delray Beach in March, but has since failed to improve his ranking.

Izak van der Merwe is at 183, while Rik de Voest has dropped seven positions to 195.
