Wax works for museum piece Djokovic

Tennis world No 1 Novak Djokovic on Thursday attended the unveiling of his own likeness in wax in the central town of Jagodina, local media reported.

Djokovic returned to Serbia, where he is considered a national hero, after defending his Australian Open title in the longest Grand Slam final of all time against Rafael Nadal.

After a brief ceremony in the museum – which hosts some 28 prominent personalities from Serbia, including former top NBA player Vlade Divac – Djokovic reportedly went to a ski resort on Kopaonik mountain in the south of the country.

He had already announced he would not take part in Serbia's Davis Cup tie against Sweden this weekend to get some rest from the busy season.

Djokovic was a key player when Serbia won their first Davis Cup title in 2010.
