Tommy Haas sets sights on Olympics
Tommy Haas wants to compete at the Olympics once more next year in London, the German tennis player said on Thursday on his website.
The former top 10 player Haas, 33, has been plagued by injuries over the last years and has plunged in the rankings to a current 212 position.
But the winner of 12 ATP singles titles and Olympic silver medallist from 2000 says he is not finished yet and wants to raise his game again in 2012.
Haas has ended the current season and said he would prepare with a new team at his Florida home for the next campaign highlighted by the London Games.
"I want to attack in 2012 and play as many tournaments as possible," Haas said.
"My primary goal is the Olympic Games in London. I want to enjoy this unique atmosphere once more. I have only good memories of the Olympics. My nicest one is from 11 years ago: I was in the final in Sydney and I am still damn proud of my silver medal.
"I want to have the experience once of more of being at such an event with all the athletes from countless countries. I will be there if my body allows it. Right now things are looking great."
