Poland beats Belgium in Fed Cup
Poland took an insurmountable 3-1 lead over Belgium on Sunday to secure its place in Fed Cup World Cup II and relegate the hosts to the Euro-Africa continental competition.
The Radwanska sisters, Agnieszka and Urszula, both won their singles on Sunday to make sure Belgium drops out of the Fed Cup world groups for the first time since the mid-1990s.
In the crucial match between the nations' best players, Agnieszka Radwanska, ranked 4th in the world, fought back from behind to beat Kirsten Flipkens, ranked 18 places below her, to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Later, Urszula put the tie beyond doubt when she beat No 183-ranked Alison Van Uytvanck, 6-1, 6-4.
