Woodcock leaves Blues for Highlanders

All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock is leaving the Blues after 113 matches and 10 seasons to play for the Highlanders in next season's Super Rugby.

Woodcock, who played his 88th test for New Zealand against Argentina on Saturday, announced his decision on Monday, saying it was "a big call and not an easy one to make."

Woodcock said "it's tough to leave the Blues and my teammates but I've made this decision because I think this is best for me and my family at this time."

New Blues head coach John Kirwan said the franchise had worked hard to keep Woodcock but understood that after 10 years he felt he needed a new challenge.
