Henry joins Blues coaching team
Rugby World Cup-winning coach Sir Graham Henry has joined the coaching staff of the Auckland Blues Super Rugby team as a technical adviser and defensive coordinator.
Henry has accepted the position under the Blues' new head coach Sir John Kirwan after ending his eight-year tenure as All Blacks coach with last year's World Cup victory in New Zealand.
Current All Blacks skills coach Mick Byrne has also accepted a position on Kirwan's staff. Byrne previously worked with Kirwan when he was coach of the Italy and Japan national teams.
Kirwan has the task of reviving the Blues franchise after its disappointing 12th-place finish in this year's Super Rugby competition.
