Jantjies signs again for Lions
The Golden Lions have snapped up the signatures of Elton Jantjies and two other Springboks as they prepare for their re-entry to Vodacom Super Rugby in 2014.
Jantjies’ agent James Adams confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday that the flyhalf, who played for the Stormers in this year’s tournament, has signed a two-year extension to his contract until the end of 2015.
The move to also sign Springboks Lionel Mapoe and Franco van der Merwe will also be welcomed for a union which lost a lot of talent over the last 12 months when they were bundled out of the 2013 competition.
Both players have extended until the end of 2015, and will continue their careers at the Lions.
The Lions also signed Marnitz Boshoff, Alwyn Hollenbach, Ruan Combinck, Jaco Kriel, Warren Whiteley and Willie Wepener, several of whom simply extended their current contracts.
Prop Bees Roux recently joined them on a three-month deal, and is likely to stay on.
