For many South Africans this was probably the biggest game of their lives. The tournament set the scene for so many memories and ended in greatness for the Springboks.
Kitch Christie’s “hospital job” in moulding a Springbok team in to the World Champions in just over a year was nothing short of sensational and the Springboks rode a rollercoaster ride of emotion that engulfed the entire country from the fist pumping victory over the Australians in the opening game until the massive victory at Ellis Park.
