Du Plessis signs for Wasps

Namibian flanker Tinus du Plessis has penned a contract deal with English club London Wasps for the remainder of the British season.

The move was reported in the Namibian newspaper Die Republikein, and stated that Du Plessis has an option to sign for a further two years if the move is successful.

Du Plessis, who was one of the stars of Namibia’s Rugby World Cup campaign, was excited about the move.

"I am excited about the challenge and if it is the Lord's will I will end my playing career at Wasps,” he told Die Republikein.

"It is every guy's dream to play at a high level. believe me, I'm going to grab the opportunity with both hands to play with players like Marco Wentzel and other players with international experience. It's a privilege to move and carry on your career in such company."

Du Plessis, who played for Maties, was also named the man of the match in Namibia’s 87-0 loss against the Springboks at the World Cup.

The flanker is waiting for his work permit before heading to England to join up with his new team.
