The Springbok was in doubt for the Newlands game when he suffered back spasms during the week that forced him to miss two training sessions. However, he took a full part in Friday's captain's practice, and WP communications manager Gavin Lewis said that Grant would definitely wear the No 10 jersey.

"Peter trained with the guys at captain's practice and he will definitely start tomorrow," said Lewis.

Conrad Hoffmann was lined up to replace Grant were he forced to withdraw but will now continue as bench cover for both scrumhalf and flyhalf.
