Lucky 13 as SuperSport tees up the NGC

Besides the 12 big-name pros and eight senior champions who will take to the fairways for the 32nd Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City’s Gary Player Country Club from November 29, SuperSport will be the host broadcaster for the 13th year in a row.

The tournament week gets under way with the Player’s Banquet, which this year will be live on SuperSport in both HD and SD on Tuesday (November 27) from 8pm.

Matthew Pearce will be the host as we get to see some of the world’s greatest names in golf all dressed up for an evening filled with fun and entertainment in the Super Bowl.

The tournament action gets under way on Thursday morning with an exclusive build-up show from SuperSport’s on-site studio overlooking the practice putting green, which will be hosted by American Jim Kelly. Among other guests, Gary Player will be there for all four rounds.

The live golf tees off at 10am on Thursday with the eight senior champions, with the main field getting their opening rounds off and running just after 11am.

The seniors will once again contest over 54 holes, and the prizegiving will follow the completion of Saturday’s third round.

The final round on Sunday will start once again with the live build-up show from 10-11am, with round four only for the 12 regular field players.

Lee Westwood will look to become the first player in the tournament’s illustrious 31-year history to win a hat-trick of titles.

The commentary team for this year’s event will be Sky’s Ewen Murray, European Ryder Cup players Ken Brown and Sam Torrance, Americans Jay Townsend and Jim Kelly, SA’s Mr Golf, Dale Hayes, and on-course comments from Dave Usendorff.
