New PSL season bigger and better
As the PSL looks to climb up the continental national championships rankings, SuperSport is packaging a bigger and better PSL broadcast product for the new season.
An increase in the number of matches to be broadcast live, a boost in the number of matches broadcast in High Definition, and the addition to the commentary team of household names Baba Mthethwa, Sizwe Mabena, Brian Baloyi, Isaac “Shakes” Kungoane and Craig Rosslee, will ensure SuperSport delivers a bigger and better 2012-13 PSL season.
The new season will see SuperSport broadcast over 120 league matches, over half of these in HD.
Two of South Africa’s best and highly respected commentators, Mthethwa and Mabena, will complete South Africa’s best football commentary cast which includes the legendary Zama Masondo and the well-travelled Mark Gleeson.
Mthethwa’s acquisition will also ensure that the three-language option (English, IsiZulu and SeSotho) will now be available on all matches.
“Our primary objective for the new season is to increase our vernacular language offering for all PSL broadcasts, and with Baba, one of the country’s top seSotho commentators on board, this strengthens our position,” said SuperSport’s Head of Production, Alvin Naicker.
Baloyi, Rosslee and Kungoane, stalwarts of South African football in seasons gone by, join as resident analysts.
Fan interaction will also be taken to a new level as opinions and views of the loyal fan will be part of all broadcasts through social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter.
