Marawa launches sexy new show on SuperSport



Thursday nights will never be the same again.

SuperSport, your World of Champions, launches a first in South African sports television. Live on location, fully interactive via social media -- Facebook, Twitter and SuperSport.com on web and mobile, player performance index and an eye in the sky -- Thursday Night Live with Robert Marawa will take sports talk/entertainment to a new level.

Focusing primarily on football and the PSL brand, news from across the African football fraternity will be highlighted, including extensive interviews with African footballers plying their trade in the PSL.

South Africa has many other sporting codes and these will not be cast aside. News, headlines and major developments in the general sporting landscape will be covered in the show.

“I’m looking forward to it, it will be a journey of at least 85% football and the rest of all other headline grabbing sports,” said Marawa.

The show will afford the viewers a platform to interact with Marawa and studio guests through social media. “It’s a big jump, with instant live interaction with the audience and also a challenge for me to keep up with social media trends,” added Marawa.. Emphasis will be placed on youth development in football, dedicating a show once a month to ensure that the development of the country’s future stars is not neglected.

Among the key features of the show is Inside PSL, a flashback of major developments, milestones and memorable clashes that have all taken place in the PSL era. Live-Wire Guest will feature a non-traditional football guest (like a lawyer) to talk about the business aspect of sport. Guests sill have to motivate their appearance on the show through the social media platform. This is just a number of a host of features available on the show.

Under the tutelage of the well-versed Marawa, viewers will get an extensive inside track of the goings-on in the PSL like player transfers -- until the last second of the transfer deadline day. Marawa won’t be flying solo on this one: two co-pilots will be helping him navigate the galaxy of sports. Who are they, you ask? All we can say for now is that they are gorgeous, sexy, have extensive knowledge of sports and will keep you glued to your television screens… Thursday Night Live lifts off on October 28 at 8.30pm on SuperSport 4 and SuperSport HD1 -- only on your World of Champions, where football entertainment lives.

“It’s the first time SuperSport is going this route and we intend to make it work,” concluded Marawa. Also to look out for on SuperSport is PSL Live, a 15-minute PSL news update every hour. The show will give you an up-to-the-minute update on every club in the PSL, including player transfers and injuries, live crossings to training sessions and press briefings.

PSL Live airs on November 1 on SuperSport Blitz.
