He finished second in his heat, in 22.57, behind American double-amputee Blake Leeper. Leeper is classified as a T43 athlete even though both him and Fourie are competing in the same event.

Natalie du Toit Natalie du Toit made it through to the 100m breaststroke SB8 final for the first time at Paralympic level. The second slowest qualifier in 1:30.24, Du Toit would be up against Britain's Claire Cashmore, the fastest qualifier in 1:22.90 in Saturday evening's final.
