Originally known as the Millennium Dome and built for the Millennium celebrations, the North Greenwich Arena has become one of the most versatile and striking venues in London, hosting major sporting events and music concerts all year round. Situated on the point of the Greenwich peninsula, the arena is just across the River Thames from the mouth of the River Lea, which flows through the Olympic Park

The facility is host to three sports during London 2012. As well as the entire artistic gymnastics and trampoline competitions being staged at the venue, the medal matches in the men's and women's basketball tournaments will also be held there.
