Aprilia undecided on Guintoli
Aprilia could decide "in the coming hours" whether or not to sign Sylvain Guintoli for next year's Championship.
With 2012 World Superbike Champion Max Biaggi announcing earlier this month that was retiring from racing, the factory Aprilia team was left searching for a new teammate for Eugene Laverty.
One name that was thrown into the mix was Guintoli as the 30-year-old claimed two race victories this past season, winning in Magny-Cours and again in Assen.
"He could be a reasonable choice to partner with Laverty," Aprilia's racing head Gigi Dall'Igna told GPone.com.
"I repeat: everything will depend on what we decide in the coming hours."
However, their second rider is not the only decision facing the team as Dall'Igna admitted they have yet to decide if they even will run a second rider.
"That is one possibility... We want to be present in the championship with adequate numbers and representation.
"We are still making our final decision. We have enough bikes available to make whatever choice we want, but we just have to figure out the make-up of the team."
