'Michael Laverty in line for PBM ride'
Michael Laverty could enter the world of MotoGP next season, racing a Paul Bird Motorsport's ART Aprilia.
Having parted ways with James Ellison at the end of last season, PMB sort the services of Shane Byrne. However, the reigning British Superbike Champion turned them down.
As such the team is looking for a new rider with the Belfast Telegraph reporting that Laverty, the brother of WSBK rider Eugene Laverty, is in the mix.
PBM, though, is not the Irishman's only option as he has two in British Superbikes, one with a Honda and the other with a Yamaha team.
"I've got on really well with both Honda and Yamaha teams these past two season, but the lure of World championship and racing against [Colin] Edwards and [Randy] De Puniet in CRT is appealing," Laverty told the newspaper.
"I know it's the second tier championship in MotoGP, and it's even harder to know what is the best decision to make, as the Yamaha deal with Shaun is right on the wire and he can't hold on much longer."
